This case study details the successful deployment of the V8-BCS borehole video inspection system by Norilsk Nickel (Nornickel), one of the world's largest producers of nickel and palladium, at its operations in the Norilsk Industrial District. Faced with the critical challenge of proactively monitoring permafrost degradation and subsurface infrastructure integrity in the environmentally sensitive Arctic, Nornickel required a precise, reliable, and efficient diagnostic tool. The implementation of the V8-BCS system provided real-time, high-definition visual data from deep boreholes, enabling the company's geotechnical teams to make informed decisions, mitigate risks of emergency situations, and ensure the safety of critical assets.
