How to Properly Clean and Maintain Pipe Inspection Cameras After Use?
To extend the service life of your pipe inspection cameras, proper cleaning and maintenance after each use is essential. Follow these guidelines based on camera type and working conditions:
1. For standard direct-view cameras (e.g., 17mm, 23mm, 29mm,40mm etc.)
After completing the inspection, “do not disassemble“the camera head. Keep it connected to the cable and thoroughly rinse the entire unit with clean water. Make sure all dirt and debris are removed, then allow it to air dry completely before storage.
2. For cameras with pan tilt rotation functions (e.g.,33mm pan tilt ,45mm dual view,50mm pan tilt)
These models have small gaps and moving parts that can trap contaminants.
2.1 If used in ordinary sewage environments, rinse the camera multiple times with clean water, paying special attention to the gaps and rotating joints to ensure they are completely clean.
2.2 If the inspection involved mud, sand, grease, oil, or other heavy contaminants, “intensify cleaning”on all rotating parts and crevices. Remove any residue thoroughly, as leftover particles can cause abrasion over time.
Always allow the camera to “air dry naturally” before storing it. Proper cleaning prevents buildup that could lead to:
- Stiff or unresponsive rotation
- Water leakage into the camera head
- Premature wear of mechanical components
Regular and careful maintenance will keep your equipment operating smoothly and significantly extend its lifespan. For specific models or stubborn contamination, please contact Vicam technical support team via email at pipecamera@szvicam.com or by phone at +(86)-133-9219-0775
